Law Day – Law Week in many jurisdictions – is marked by projects and activities taking place across not only the province, but the country. Activities in BC include public legal education classes, mock trials, courthouse tours, and community open houses.

Here are just some of the activities going on in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland:

  • Courthouse Tours – An introduction to BC’s court system and how it works. Watch real trials in progress and learn about the various roles of justice system professionals. Times and registration details to come.
  • Free public education law classes – Topics include consumer law, wills & estates, employment law, immigration law.  Locations across the Lower Mainland. Times, addresses and registration details to come.
  • Student Outreach Program | Judges in the Classroom - The Student Outreach Program is designed for law classes, social studies classes and career preparation for Grades 10 to 12. We will arrange for a judge to visit your classroom for approximately one hour. The judge will discuss the training and education required to become a lawyer or a judge, provide insight on the practice of law and answer questions. Teachers are encouraged to suggest topics of interest. Classroom visits will take place between April 3 - 28.
