CBABC is pleased to welcome Leah George-Wilson to our branch as the Truth & Reconciliation Officer. Leah is a well-known and respected Indigenous leader who practices in the area of Indigenous law. She was the first woman to serve as Chief of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a position she held for 6 years. She is currently an elected Co-Chair of the First Nations Summit, a Director on the Land Advisory Board and an appointed member of the First Nations Health Council. She was a key voice in ensuring that Indigenous people were appropriately represented in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics through her role as a board member of the Four Host Nations.

In her role as Truth & Reconciliation Officer, Leah will assist the Truth & Reconciliation Working Group and CBABC to, inter alia, integrate Indigenous cultural competency within future professional development, and work with Sections and Forums to integrate components of the Reconciliation Action and implementation Plan, as necessary.
