Dear CBABC members,
Like all of you, the CBABC office is putting plans together to protect our members, our communities, our employees and their families against the COVID-19 virus.
To that end, we have decided to implement the following changes.
All Section meetings until the end of May are either moving entirely to online access, or will be postponed based on consultation with Section Executives. Section event pages are being updated this week. All registrants will be emailed with specific details, including instructions for online access.
Professional Development Events
All in-person PD events until the end of May are being postponed to June or later. Everything is being rescheduled, and your registration fee will apply to the new event. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will be provided a full refund.
For all meetings and events scheduled for June and beyond, we will continue to monitor the situation. If public health authorities continue to recommend against groups gathering at that time, we will make further adjustments to our schedule.
Meanwhile, registration for June events remains open. We have instituted a No-Risk Purchase Policy, whereby you will get a full refund if the event is cancelled or rescheduled, or if you cannot attend due to illness.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have enacted a work from home policy and our Branch office will be closed as of Wednesday, March 18. While our physical office is closed, we want to continue to serve you. Please call 604-687-3404 or 1.888.687.3404 to access our staff directory. Please leave a voicemail, which flows directly to our email, and we will return your call as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience as we make this transition.
If you have questions or need to cancel your registration, please contact:
Section Meetings: email@example.com
All other PD & events: firstname.lastname@example.org
CBA National is also operational at this time, and providing their own notifications. Please visit cba.org for the latest information on their COVID-19 response plan, as well as updates on their scheduled meetings and conferences.
Our office is regularly receiving notifications from the Courts on their operations. We will continue to update cbabc.org/courts with information as we receive it.
If you need assistance on preparing for impacts to clients and employees, CBA has a number of resources that specifically speak to the legal profession. Please visit cbabc.org/pandemics.
News + Jobs will continue every week, and will be our principal way of keeping you up-to-date, unless something requires urgent notification.
Please do not hesitate to be in touch with us at email@example.com if you have questions, concerns or suggestions of how we can support our members during this challenging situation.
