National Lawyer Well-Being and Mental Health Campaign | Oct 4-10
The Mental Health and Awareness (MH&A) Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Canadian Bar Association would like your support in the second edition of the “Law Needs Well-Being Because...” Campaign.
The “Law Needs Well-Being Because...” Campaign is a national photo campaign that invites lawyers, articled clerks, and law students from all over the country to reflect on why well-being is important for our profession. The aim of the campaign is to normalize conversations about mental health and inspire lawyers to take good care of themselves.
This photo campaign draws inspiration from two successful campaigns: a campaign run by law students at McGill Law (“Law needs feminism because…”) as well as a wellness campaign undertaken at the CBA’s Midwinter Meeting in 2018 in New Brunswick. You can take a look at their campaign photos here, and our campaign photos from 2019 here.
This year, our campaign will run from Oct 4-10, 2020.
Help our campaign attain a national reach by:
- sharing campaign information with lawyers in your network, and
- taking a leading role on social media during the week of the campaign by sharing posts and using the hashtag #LawNeedsWellbeingBecause.
We hope that sharing these images across our profession and our country will begin to normalize some of the important conversations about mental health and well-being.
