National Indigenous Peoples Day Auction 2020 | June 19-27

  • June 01, 2020

2020 will be the auction's best year ever only because we carried on!

Since our annual auction is an online event, the Aboriginal Lawyers Forum has decided to proceed this year. We hope it will raise spirits and boost morale in the face of COVID-19.

However COVID-19 is daring us to get as many donations as we normally would - around 100. Can we meet that challenge?! YES WE CAN!

Here is the link to this year's auction site which is presently being loaded. Take a look and share the link with your networks.

Support local businesses and services that have stayed open or will soon be re-opening for our benefit. Their gift cards or certificates are win-win donations which can be quickly posted onto the auction website.

We are heartened by continued donations from hard-hit donors such the Pacific Gateway Hotel and Vancouver Corporate Yoga (offering Zoom classes). They inspire the resilience and confidence that we all need in order to come out on the other side of COVID-19.

The pandemic is also impacting the legal profession, Indigenous law students in particular. The ALF is proud to continue its strong support of Indigenous law students through financial awards and subsidizing their attendance at our signature events. Last year, owing to the success of this auction over the years, we increased our annual awards from $500 to $1,000 for Indigenous students from each law school at UBC, UVic and TRU.
