B.C. Simplifies Rules for Selling Securities to Non-Residents

The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) has made it easier for B.C. issuers to access capital outside the province. As of October 31, 2017, three new and/or improved exemptions to the prospectus requirement are available for distributions to purchasers outside B.C.

"To pay respect to Joe’s legacy of both public interest advocacy and to Indigenous reconciliation in BC and across Canada, the Joseph Arvay Legacy Fund has been created at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. This fund will be used to encourage and support law students who have an interest in following the visionary work of Joe Arvay in pursuing public law activities, and who show the aptitude and talent for this specialized branch of law."
