Bill Introduced: Accessible British Columbia Act

Bill 6 introduced April 28, 2021 supports the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to the full and equal participation in society of persons with disabilities by requiring the government and other organizations to establish accessibility committees and develop accessibility plans and by providing for the development and enactment of accessibility standards.

Amendment: Provincial Court Family Rules

  • April 14, 2021

On May 17, 2021, a new set of Provincial Court Family Rules will be implemented. The new rules and forms are in BC Reg 120/2020 and section by section explanations of the rules are in PCFR Explained. A CLE about the new PCFR will be held on April 20, 2021 with rebroadcasts scheduled for May, June and July.

Bill Introduced: Firearm Violence Prevention Act

Bill 4-2021 was introduced on March 4, 2021 aimed at curbing gun violence in British Columbia. If passed, the legislation will make it more difficult for gang members to buy, transport or possess real or imitation firearms.
