The COVID-19 pandemic has brought challenges to everyone in BC, but especially to vulnerable British Columbians with critical legal needs. Frontline legal charities are struggling to keep up with these emergent legal needs, and could use your help.
As one such charity, Access Pro Bono is hosting its 14th annual legal advice-a-thon event from September 13-24. BC lawyers are invited to volunteer providing virtual legal advice services through this province-wide event called Pro Bono Going Public.
As a volunteer lawyer, you will be fully insured, able to choose your preferred day and one-hour telephone shift, and matched to a pre-screened client within your chosen practice area. This is another opportunity to promote equal access to justice for all British Columbians. Your conscience will thank you!
For more information and to register as a volunteer, please visit the Pro Bono Going Public website at www.advice-a-thon.ca. You may also contact Annie Baric, APB Director of Engagement & Operations, at (604) 482-3195 x 1501 or by email at email@example.com.
