"The Societies Act came into effect November 28, 2016 and governs how societies (not-for-profit corporations) are created and run in B.C. The Act includes significant updates to allow for more flexibility in how societies operate, while still protecting the public interest."
"Societies incorporated in B.C. prior to November 28, 2016, have two years (until November 28, 2018) to transition. This means setting up the required accounts to use Societies Online and completing a transition application. There is no charge for filing a transition application."
