CBABC is a co-signer of a letter sent to the Attorney General highlighting transparency, lawyer independence, diversity and access to justice as issues with the proposed legislation. The letter – also signed by TLABC, FACL BC, SABABC and several others – calls for open and comprehensive engagement to address these concerns.
We also urge the government to share the proposed draft legislation with the entire legal profession in advance of its introduction.
