Passing down the robe to those who do good

Jeff Huberman received this robe from his law partner, Lyall Gardiner, in 1996. At the time he was working for a not-for-profit law office, serving the needs of seven Indigenous communities in the Cariboo-Chilcotin area. Lyall is a remarkable human being and was a great lawyer making a positive difference in the lives of those facing significant challenges.

Jeff went on to use the robe at the Supreme Court of BC, the Court of Appeal of BC, the Federal Court of Appeal, and several times at the Supreme Court of Canada, advocating on behalf of Indigenous clients. It has seen some use, but always in the fight for justice and what was right. Jeff is pleased to be able to pass this on to someone who might need it as he once did.
