Synopsis:Over the last several months, there has been a noticeable increase in pet custody cases. These are cases involving “ownership” disputes over companion animals. Essentially, “who gets the dog or cat upon separation?” One or the other person, or both? We discussed the law, including jurisdictional issues, as well as practical advice.
