Business Practice & Innovation Committee

Mandate

This standing committee:

  • identifies issues and anticipated changes within the profession and society that impact lawyers in their ability to engage in the business of the practice of law;
  • identifies, monitors and analyzes business and practice issues of significance to members, and opportunities for innovation within the legal profession;
  • makes recommendations to the Member Services & Engagement Committee about the development and promotion of practical resources for members, including Sololink;
  • promotes coordination within sections and other CBABC groups interested in the provision of unbundled legal services and other innovative approaches to the practice of law; and
  • provides liaison between the BC Branch and the CBA’s Legal Futures Initiatives, including identifying ways to promote and make available its initiatives to CBABC members.
