Accessing land ownership information through a search of the Land Owner Transparency Registry will be free of charge as of April 1, 2024. The B.C. Government and the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia are collaborating to improve transparency on hidden property ownership and money laundering in the housing market.
The current fee is $5.25 per record. The government is acting on a recommendation from the 2022 Cullen Commission to allow LOTR searchers at no cost for law enforcement and regulators but going a step beyond to eliminate search fees for everyone.
