Guest Speakers: Dr. George Wiehahn, Director of Medical Services for Forensic Psychiatric Services, Steve Hulme, Forensic Liaison, Nanaimo Regional Forensic Psychiatric Clinic, and Angus Monaghan, Regional Director, Nanaimo Regional Forensic Psychiatric Clinic 
Meeting Title/Topic: Expansion of Local Psychiatric Resources 
Synopsis: Dr. George Wiehahn, the Director of Medical Services for Forensic Psychiatric Services, Steve Hulme, Forensic Liaison for the Nanaimo Regional Forensic Psychiatric Clinic, and Angus Monaghan, Regional Director for the Nanaimo Regional Psyciatric Clinic, discussed the expansion of services and increased resources for psychiatric consult at the Nanaimo Regional Forensic Psychiatric Clinic. An open forum followed with a view to eliciting input from both the Crown and Defence regarding gaps in services or programming that increased forensic resources may address.

Meeting Title/Topic: Expansion of Resources for Domestic Violence Court 
Synopsis: The Nanaimo Domestic Violence Court continues to evolve as a therapeutic court model. New resources have been provided that will expedite service delivery to accused and victims at intake. Participants joined Ms. Magi Cooper, therapist, and Jackie Gaudet, Crown Counsel as they explained the new services available to assist counsel as they help their clients navigate the therapeutic court process.

Meeting Title/Topic: Role of The Native Courtworker 
Synopsis: Tricia Pantel and Desiree Harris, Nanaimo Native Courtworkers, outlined the current role that their organization plays in the criminal justice system and lead a discussion regarding their vision for the future. This meeting was our Criminal Justice - Nanaimo Section AGM so there was a welcoming for new members of the executive and the Section and a discussion of our agenda for the coming year.
