Report
I have enclosed the agenda: this was a combined executive meeting and our annual meetings with the following pension stakeholders: Canada Revenue Agency, Ministry of Finance, and the federal pension regulator OSFI. Each of these three meetings had their own detailed agendas (enclosed).
The highlights continue to be the opportunity to meet face to face with the pension stakeholders to ensure a strong relationship with the CBA. We heard from each group that they valued the connection with the CBA and our feedback and discussions through the year. These opportunities allow for the CBA section to be made aware of trends in the respective areas/offices, as well as ask questions about legal and policy initiatives and priorities. Our areas of focus included legislative reform, the development and implementation of new and innovative pension plan designs, changes to investment rules, and multi-jurisdictional pension agreements.
